My name is Keith Vance. I'm what the president of the United States calls a lunatic - part of the lunatic left.

What that means is that I believe in people being free from the shackles of greedy capitalists who seek to exploit and profit by grinding up human lives.

Why a bookstore?

All my life I've been an amateur historian with a focus on the struggles of people over oppression. The period I really enjoy learning about is between 1870 and the 1930s. It was a time in the United States and globally when people were really exploring this school of thought around capitalism and workers, labor unions and communism.

At the end of the day, the capitalists won. They proved to be more ruthless and cunning than those supporting workers. Many people, like Frank Little and Joe Hill, were killed. Many others were imprisoned and their lives destroyed for challenging capitalists.

However, just because things are as they are now in 2026, doesn't mean this is how things have to be. I believe that if we study our past, and see that these struggles we're facing are not new, and that there are solutions already developed that we can lean into. The capitalists want us to feel hopeless. It serves their interests.

I have books on here that have been "restored" and others that are not restored. A restored book is one that I spent 2 months setting the type and redrawing all of the artwork and making it look as close to the original as possible. Books that haven't been restored are based directly on scanned images. Neither book is better than the other, but the restored ones cost more because I had to put considerable time making them. The books that aren't restored, I think look cool too, but based on the quality of the scan, some text may be difficult or impossible to read.
